CCF Celebrates Welcoming Week

The Chaldean Community Foundation hosted the Breakfast of Nations event in collaboration with the Sterling Heights Chamber of Commerce, Global Detroit, Welcoming Michigan, Vibe Credit Union, Michigan Intermediate School District and One Macomb. After being on hiatus due to the pandemic, the event was brought back in person for the first time since 2019.

More than 120 participants learned about the migration stories of Yara Shadda, Ryan Rosario and Siri Pipatsattayanywong. The event featured the panel’s personal experiences as refugees and immigrants and discussed how to best support and assist new Americans acculturate. Notable attendees included Macomb County Executive Mark Hackel, State Representative Padma Kuppa, Sterling Heights City Manager Mark Vanderpool, and many more city and county representatives.

The event also recognized Chaldean Community Foundation’s diverse client base, as it was announced in the event program that the Chaldean Community Foundation has served individuals from 48 countries in the last calendar year.
