Atlanta High School Students Learn about the Chaldean community

The ALIF Institute, in partnership with the Arab American National Museum visited the Chaldean Community Foundation on July 14 to learn more about the Chaldean culture, faith and our history.

The visit started with a presentation and tour of the CCF, followed by a youth panel discussion with Fadi Koria, who shared his refugee story with the group of students. The students later visited Ishtar Restaurant for lunch to enjoy some Chaldean cuisine and made a visit to Holy Martyrs Chaldean Catholic Church to talk with Fr. Andrew Seba about Chaldean faith and other questions about religious history. The day concluded with a tour of the Chaldean Cultural Center, given by Weam Namou, discussing the history of the Chaldeans from Mesopotamia to current day and finished the day with a dinner at the Kubba House.

This tour and day was all a part of the CCF’s Cultural Competency Training program, designed to provide education and information to community, health and government organizations on and about the Chaldean community.
