Educating Teachers
Chippewa Valley Schools Staff receive a cultural awareness training from CCF’s Strategic Initiatives Manager, Stacy Bahri.
You may have heard the term “cultural competency,” but what does it mean, and how can a community benefit from it? Think of it as a bridge connecting diverse perspectives. When we meet someone new, whether at work, in your neighborhood, or at an event, we’re not just meeting a person but a whole world of experiences, beliefs, and values.
CCF educates various communities about the Chaldean culture and most recently, Stacy Bahri, Strategic Initiatives Manager, provided cultural awareness training for more than 200 teachers from the Chippewa Valley School District. The CCF’s training touches on Chaldean history, culture, traditions, and social norms of our community.
These trainings build awareness, help the workforce learn about cultural differences to work more effectively, help bring balance to the work environment, and provide empathy and understanding for those they serve.
