MSU Wall of Fame 2020: Steve Francis

Each year, the School of Criminal Justice at Michigan State University chooses outstanding alumni to be placed on the Wall of Fame. Included in 2020’s inductees is Steve Francis. Francis is the Assistant Director for Global Trade Investigations Division with Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and the Director of the National Intellectual Property Rights Coordination Center. Previously, Francis served as the Special Agent in Charge for HSI Detroit with an area of responsibility that included the states of Michigan and Ohio. He graduated from MSU’s School of Criminal Justice in 1997.

The School of Criminal Justice at Michigan State University conducts cutting-edge research to understand some of the most challenging problems posed by crime and emerging risks – firearms violence, cybercrime, environmental crime, product counterfeiting, terrorism, gender-based violence, and youth violence – and then engages with policy makers and practitioners to advance justice. They are home to one of the oldest continuous degree granting programs in Criminal Justice in the United States. Their graduate programs are ranked in the top 10 nationally by US News & World Report. The valued alumni base numbers over 12,000.
